Quilting

Well, I have been doing some making but no finished projects.

I have been doing a lot of quilting. I started quilting this baby quilt last week on my domestic machine.

I love straight lines on these little quilts! I have about a third of it done. Shouldn't take long to finish it.

Yesterday I went to my mom's and quilted my plus quilt on her Gammill.

This is just a sneak peek. I will get more pictures when it is done. It is really dark and dreary here today, hopefully by the time I finish the binding, it will be a nice sunny day.

Since it is so yucky out today, I thought I would work on my mini for the Dreaming of Spring Mini Quilt Swap hosted by the Quilting Gallery.

Dreaming of Spring Mini Quilt Swap

My mom was lucky enough to go to MQX East / New England Quilt Festival last week. she brought me back some goodies, thought you might like to see them.

A beautiful bundle of yummy fat quarters!

And these "perfect scissors" by Karen Kay Buckley. We have been eyeing these for some time now and I am so glad to finally have a pair! They cut through fabric like butter! Seriously, the fabric doesn't slip so your cutting is a lot more accurate. It is thanks to the micro serrated blade. These are the small ones. I am going to order the medium and large sizes too, probably next month...need to save a little cuz they aren't cheap!

She also found the perfect backing for my Colour My World Challenge Quilt. So glad she will be able to get that one quilted soon too!

Off to appliqué that spring mini!

A pouch and some progress

Well, I got a little bit of sewing done this week. I have been wanting to make a zipper pouch for a while and I found this awesome tutorial by Noodlehead. It was so easy to follow and I managed to make it without making any mistakes (I was worried about putting in a zipper...)

I also made some progress on my medallion quilt from the Handstitched class. I finally finished my EPP squares.

I am a little sad that I cut off some points but I will live with it. Only 2 borders to go before I get to the hand quilting!

For those of you who are wondering, Rosie is doing very well. She only gets up once during the night now and she doesn't bark when we put her in her gated enclosure anymore. She has taught herself to go up the stairs, which I am not so sure is a good thing but I am trying to stay positive!

Have a great weekend!
